The photos on this page show the various steps in the creation of our lathe turned work.
The first series of photos show the making of a Southwestern style hollow form from a billet of Cherry Burl. A burl is a growth apearing on the outside of a tree.The burl provides a very interesing grain pattern, often swirly and irregular in appearance. This piece also has a beautifull bark inclusion. I hope you share the excitement I felt when turning this piece........Lee
